Coming Home Quietly

By

We cannot forget that we have troops in combat zones.

Many are not coming home to ticker tapes.

They come home with the ultimate silence.

They come home with soul wrenching pain.

From Newsday.com and Hugo Kugiya
More than just 'a container for the remains'.

Jimmy Breslin has never been one to mince words. He doesn't here either; he does bring home to your door the pain that is coming to others. Whatever your position is on this war, we have to remember the verities of war - war is a hungry thing. There are Coalition Casualties; there are Iraqi Casualties. There are Casualties in Afghanistan. What other casualties may come, we have yet to know.

From Common Dreams.org, Newsday.com and Jimmy Breslin What We've Really Lost in this Indefensible War by Jimmy Breslin.
