We are raised with the traditions and perspectives of our immediate families. As we grow, we expand our horizons; as those horizons expand we reach into the thoughts of those who have come before us seeking their kernels of truth and how they relate to our lives.  We must also look at the thoughts of those who are our contemporaries being graced with life on this planet.
I highly recommend for your reading, contemplation, the following articles from a lovely magazine, The Other Side:

Hope on the Edge by Dee Dee Risher
Other Side.
Lamentations by Dee Dee Risher
Other Side.

An Opening to Transformation by Richard Schaull
Other Side.

We are coming up to a terrible anniversary. How do we choose to view this tragedy?  What legacy do we hope to give it?  As always, it is all within our choices.

I would also like to direct your attention to the publication, Parabola: Myth, Tradition, and the Search for Meaning. This quarter's theme is Grace; the November issue is about War. What myths, what traditions join the two?
Parabola.

Loving by Remy Benoit

Read Jerry Wenstrom's review of Loving.

Rhea and Jordan Devereaux had it all: undying devotion, a tender love, and a grand passion. And then the Vietnam War separated them. Follow the course of their love across time and space. Journey with them through the steaming jungle; dance with the Mardi Gras revelers while revolution unseats Louis XVI and protestors on the Washington Mall scream, Hell, NO. We won't Go. Sail with Laffite's pirates into Devil's Isle and rejoice as an unconditional and timeless love emerges victorious.
