Chris hedges: Are you a rebel or a slave?

By Remy Benoit

There comes a time in life when we have to ask ourselves who, what, and where we are. As a nation we have built, although with great pain and suffering for many, we have built something very precious: freedom.

You can enjoy freedom if you are indentured to mortgages, jobs that are provided not to help you, but to further the profits of others. So it has been for generation after generation. Today we are at a turning point. Will we give to non-people, corporations, personhood to be used in abusive ways against the rest of us? Or will we say, in calm and constructive ways, with respect to our Founding Mothers and Father, we support your vision. Our soldiers are abroad fighting to give others democracy. At home its protection is in our hands.

From Chris Hedges, Truthdig, at RSN Are you a rebel or a slave?
