Robert Reich: March in Protest on Labor Day

By Remy Benoit

At RSN March in Protest on Labor Day.

CEO personal profits are way up; the endless wars continue, draining our youth, draining our resources. The VA still is not properly caring for the veterans we have. Every time I go to the market, food prices are up.

We need a new CCC, a new WPA to rebuild the infra-structure of this country. We need to care for the planet.

We need to prosecute those who caused this economic mess and we need to understand that this is a rich country, we are not broke, the financial mechanism is broken and needs to be fixed. And that means we face head on what is wrong with it and deal with those who made it that way. End the lobbyists who are making profits without regard to your well-being.

We need to give active support to our soldiers and veterans; we need to demand that mortgages not be foreclosed on soldiers on active duty. We need to provide more than just adequate care for PTSD. Violence does not stop when soldiers come home, they need help.

We need to wake up as a country.
