War Lessons

By Remy Benoit

From Ray McGovern at Consortium News Afghan Lessons from the Iraq War.

From CNN Afghanistan and Iraq Casualties.

Just as a reminder:

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial has 58,000+ names of dead American soldiers engraved 1 cm high. The total length of the Wall is 150 meters long.

If all the names of the Vietnamese lost during the American War were etched 1 cm high on a similar wall, that wall would be 14 kilometers long.

(Note: that is 14 kilometers = 8.69919669 miles)

From the introduction, pg 14, Viet Nam: A Country at Peace, by Philip Jones Griffiths, 2007.
