Robert Dallek: How Not to End Another President's War (L.B.J. Edition)

By Remy Benoit

From Robert Dallek, the NY Times at Truthout How Not to End Another President's War (L.B.J. Edition).

I am not one to cry at movies, but Kevin Bacon left me weeping throughout the beautiful movie he has made Taking Chance.

It is based on the true life story of a Marine Lt. Col. Michael Strobl, who volunteers to take Pfc. Chance Phelps remains home from Iraq.

This movie is done with sincerity, with respect, with class, and with compassion.

Before we go gung ho into sending more into harm's way, it would be a good idea to watch this movie as it reminds you that soldiers are peopleĀ— each and every one of them with lives, with dreams, with those whom they love, and with those who love them.

Thank you, Kevin. Well done!

The movie is still available on HBO. Take the time, make the time. It is the least we can do.
