Senate Votes to Repudiate MoveOn.org's Ad

By Remy Benoit

From CNN Bush: MoveOn.org ad on Petraeus 'disgusting'.

From Keith Olbermann, Countdown, MSNBC Olbermann to Bush: ‘Your hypocrisy is so vast’ A reaction to Thursday’s press conference: the president was the one who interjected Gen. Petraeus into the political dialogue in the first place. His Special Comment. Please, continue giving yours!

Anyone complaining about the MOVEON.ORG ad -- which, by the way, DOES NOT accuse General Petraeus of wrongdoing -- who failed to condemn the "Swiftboat Veterans" smear job that called into question the entire award system of the Vietnam Era, including John Kerry but also John McCain and Max Cleland, are hypocrites and political hacks. Disgusting is our combat dodging President and draft-dodging Vice President using our soldiers as cheap political props. Oh, live ones only, of course. Our President is afraid of being photographed with a hero's flag draped coffin. Welcome home indeed. -- a 10 year Marine veteran, Purple Heart, Gulf War 1 Service.

The great irony is that it is the service of General Petraeus and the armed forces of the United States that provides the safety and security that enables Moveon.org to trash his name.

I can't figure out how it is terrible for anyone to attack Petraeus when it was Ok to attack Max Mc Clellan, a three part amputee of WW II as a traitor. The Republicans used that to defeat him in the Senatorial race but it is disgraceful to repudiate the shill Petraeus. He is no different than Westmoreland as a mouthpiece for LBJ during the War in Vietnam. After all the lies of this administration how could you believe anything they put out. This administration feels that it can condemn anyone who doesn't dance to their tune but the enemies of this administration are coming out of the wall. If Mc Cain had won the primary in 2000 and not been Swift boated by those idiots in South Carolina prompted by Rove, especially that crackpot Robertson, we would not be in this position as a nation.

Why is the Congress wasting my hard-earned taxes on debating what is clear protected by our Constitutional right to free speech. It must be true that facism is alive and well in Republican party.
