Speaker Pelosi in Syria

By Remy Benoit

From the AP and MSNBC Pelosi tours Damascus, rebuffing criticism
Sweets, carpets and diplomacy on speaker’s agenda; White House protests.

We cannot communicate with others if we do not engage them in conversation, in diplomacy. War is a failure of diplomacy - if you do not engage in diplomacy, you have failed from the beginning.

From The Boston Globe and Peter S. Cannellos On the homefront, another battle ensues.

And while the peacocking positioning goes on, our troops and Iraqis die. Those in combat are not off for Spring break this week. Perhaps Congress should have stayed 'in school' and worked on the problem those in combat are facing.

Maybe, 100 times on the 'chalkboard' - "We can end this rationally, compassionately, and quickly. We can stop thinking about '08 and deal with today, and tomorrow for those in such dire danger."

It is quite disturbing to watch the "candidates' worry more about themselves, their campaign $, and their polls than about our troops.

That we must tell them.
