The Pain Goes on, and Grows

By Remy Benoit

From Worldblog at MSNBC Iraq A Nation of Widows.

From Richard Behan at Common Dreams George BushÂ’s Land Mine: If the Iraqi People Get Revenue Sharing, They Lose Their Oil to Exxon.

From Richard Behan at AlterNet From Afghanistan to Iraq: Connecting the Dots with Oil.

From the AP and Global Researcher New US Embassy in Baghdad: Size of Vatican City.

From Veterans for America and Bobby Muller President's Visit to Walter Reed: Statement of Veterans for America.

From GovTrack H.R. 1591: U.S. Troop Readiness, Veterans' Health, and Iraq Accountability Act, 2007.

And this article should get some blood moving - some thought - some reflection - some, well, you tell me. From Scott Ritter, Truthdig, at Common Dreams Calling Out Idiot America.

Although this is not a new tactic, as practically any Vietnam Veteran can tell you, it is still an unacceptable practice and one we should be very much aware of. Iraqi Children Used as Decoys. When you think about it, on the large scale, those we send to fight were once our children - the ones for whom we put up child gates, used car seats, sat up many nights in terror with over a high fever. There is something in all this to think about. Please read Ed Tick: War and the Soul. Please read this book, ask your library to get copies, share the book you have. This is the face, the real face, of what we are sending those once preciously attended children of ours to face. War is ugly - we don't seem to get that. If we did, we would absolutely demand real diplomacy by those schooled in the culture of the countries we send them to.

How many Veterans are living on the streets of your city? Why are we allowing that?

From the AP and MSNBC More homeless veterans than beds for them Agencies struggle to deal with thousands at risk of ending up on street. What is wrong with "the system" that we have over 250,000 homeless Veterans? Ask your Congressmen, ask your Senators, ask the Presidents, and ask the Veterans themselves. The answers will move you to action to do something about it. This, like VA medical facility problems, are LONG STANDING problems, being increased every day.

From MSNBC Tal Afar bomb toll hits 152, deadliest of Iraq war Tally arrives during week in which more than 500 died in sectarian violence.
