A Number to Consider

By Remy Benoit

I was visiting the site of Global Action to Prevent War: A Coalition-Building Effort to Stop War, Genocide, and Internal Armed Conflict.

I came across a number there.
If you read through their Program Statement to " The Need and Opportunity for Change," you will find the same number.

I quote: Together, the world's governments now spend over $1 million a minute on the military--over $2 billion per day."

If we do the simple math, that is, in one year, well gee, my calculaor doesn't go that high, but the simple math is $730,000,000,000.

No comment, just wondering what questions that raises in your mind concerning waging war, caring for Veterans, reconstruction of war zones, etc.
