White House Says No to Partition

By Remy Benoit

From the AP and MSNBC White House rejects proposal to partition Iraq.

From the AP and Military.com Gloomy Assessment of Baghdad Op.

From the New York Times, Adam Nagourney and Jim Rutenberg, and Common Dreams Tables Turned for the G.O.P. Over Iraq Issue.

War has always been a "politcal issue." Yet people are dying, being permanently injured in mind, body, spirit. That is not an election issue. That is a human issue.

Yesterday it was reported that 11 U.S. troops died. 11 is a number. Troops are not numbers, but like Iraqi civilians are people with lives that end abruptly and cruelly.

The Congress gave clearance for this endeavor. The responsibility is shared. Politicking is not the answer. The search for an answer is the problem that should be being addressed.

Tell us what your answers are rather than name calling each other.

Lives are at stake in war. We need to remember that at the ballot box, not who had the brightest smile and ease with vapid words.
