Congress Would Leave 150,000 at Risk for Serious Brain Damage

By Remy Benoit

From Veterans for America Statement by Jonathan Powers, Associate Director of Veterans for America, And Bobby Muller, Chairman of Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation
CONGRESS WOULD LEAVE AN ESTIMATED 150,000 TROOPS AT RISK FOR SERIOUS BRAIN DAMAGE House and Senate Would Cut Defense Appropriations Funding for Traumatic Brain Injury Research and Treatment by 1/2.

Please call/write your Representatives/Senators and demand decent care of our Veterans. Do it today!

This is a simple message that I have been sending out to Representatives and Senators:

We are outraged that Congress would even consider cutting the funding for Traumatic Brain Injury suffered by our troops. There is simply NO justification for not supplying combat troops with the proper equipment and then not responding in every conceivable way to treat them when they are injured, physically, emotionally, and, indeed, spiritually. The Congress is answerable to them, and to all of us. Thank you for your kind attention in this TOP PRIORITY matter.
