Network Neutrality

By Remy Benoit

From the San Francisco Chronicle, Tom Abate, and Common Dreams Net Neutrality Amendment Dies Telecommunications bill goes to Senate without provision sought by Web firms.

Just as there should be a balance of power within the government, so should there be among the people and the corporations.

The Internet is tool for all, not for the few to regulate. It is a stepping stone to knowledge, the dissemination of ideas, and communication betweeen cultures. It is not up to the corporations to determine where we go to pass some time on someone else's front porch. That is freedom of speech and assembly, be it virtual.
