Tuesday Morning

By Remy Benoit

From MSNBC and Tom Curry A final word from Karl Rove?.

I keep hearing that the economy is improving as I watch food and gas prices go up. One friend of mine, highly skilled, has been looking for work since before Christmas; another is trying to rebuild his business in New Orleans, and, oh, yeah, finally got power to a FEMA trailer behind his ruined home the week after Easter.

The minimum wage in this country is a disgrace to us all while some can look to tax cuts of $42,000
which is just above the figure that it takes for a family of 4 to have a minimum lifestyle.

45 million people in the U.S. have no health care.

At least 35.9 million people here live in poverty, with the number increasing.

Over 200,000 of our Veterans are homeless.

Well, it is good to hear that the economy is improving. If it wasn't, I would be real concerned about the deficits.
