Mother's Day

By Remy Benoit

I just talked with a friend up north, a Veteran of Vietnam. His cousin, just two weeks short, was killed by a roadside bomb last week.

The flowers he pre-ordered for his Mama came for Mother's Day.

These mothers who lost their children are in D.C. this weekend. War is real, so cruelly real for everyone whose life it touches.

From Truthout, Geoffrey Millard and Scott Galindez: A Somber Mother's Day Weekend in DC.

Other of our nation's mothers are sitting with, visiting with, their children who were catastrophically wounded in action.

Yes, we need to get our eyes wide open.
Our hearts, our prayers, are with you.
