Freedom of the Press

By Remy Benoit

It is obvious that the press did not appreciate the comments that Stephen Colbert directed toward them.

Nevertheless, over 50,000 citizens did. Thank You Stephen Colbert.

Yet, here is a thought to keep in mind from the Founding Father who felt that his words in the following documents, as he had inscribed on his tombstone

HERE WAS BURIED
THOMAS JEFFERSON
AUTHOR OF THE
DECLARATION
OF
AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE
OF THE
STATUTE OF VIRGINIA
FOR
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
AND FATHER OF THE
UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

were his most important contributions to the country ( although those of us who live in the lands of the Louisiana Purchase might include that too).

Where the Presss is Free and every man able to read, all is safe.

Just something to think about.
