I got a call this morning from a man walking on the beach at Waveland, Mississippi. Five months after Katrina he walked along telling me what he saw: no houses, some remains of steps, random bricks, a pom-pom ( green and white ), telephone pieces, someone's notebook, pieces of pilings, a tree branch, ruined Tupperware, a glass bottle, and a hot tub.
