From CNN Sun begins to shine in Northeast. Interestingly, this area has had only one brief rain since Katrina and dry dusty ground is very thirsty.

Yesterday, on the way to "Old Farmers Day," I saw more of the devastation in my area. At the end of one road, there is one upturned trailer and the insurance people haven't yet managed to get there. The one next to it needs replacement but getting nowhere with FEMA. We passed a house with a tarp over the roof that had painted on it, "FEMA, we need help." And the days continue passing as the nights grow cooler. And yes, while we do not have winter like it is up north, we do go down to 20 here sometimes.
