Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

By Remy Benoit

The stress levels here are the Gulf Coast are very high.

If you are having trouble managing your stress, feel depressed, suicidal, etc. you need help.

These are places where you can get help.

PTSD.

National Center for PTSD.

PTSD Alliance.

Sanctuary.

There is nothing to be ashamed of if you are feeling stressed. PTSD is the mind's way of helping you survive extremely traumatic events. What you have been through with Katrina is traumatic. Having Rita out there as an unknown is not helping. Not having electricity is not helping. Wondering where your next meal will come from is not helping. Wondering where your mail is doesn't help. Wondering how you will pay your bills is not helping. Feeling cut off from the world doesn't help.

Learn the symptoms, learn how you can get help in stress management and recovery.

The help is there; use it!

Blessings,
Remy
