We're Back!

By Remy Benoit

Sorry for the inconvenience the last few days - a server upgrade.

With the new year in full swing, with talk of war in the air, I thought this to be a good time to direct you to a special essay by Robert Olen Butler.
Butler, who teaches creative writing at Florida State University in Tallahasse has been awarded a Pulitzer Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Magazine Award, and that is to list only a few of the recognitions of his vast talent.

He is a Veteran of Vietnam,'71.

Beneath the layers of the horror of war, he witnessed the beauty of the country.

Saigon first appeared in Conde Nast Traveller in '95. It is an essay seeking and finding healing in a return visit to Vietnam.

Saigon.

I also highly recommend his short story, Fairy Tale, in French Quarter Fiction: The Newest Stories of America's Oldest Bohemia.
Fairy Tale.

You will find Butler's books, including his newest novel, Fair Warning, at Butler.

If you are seeking healing, reconciliation, and resolution you won't find a better place to work on those than with Robert Olen Butler's heartfelt and soulfilled words on the the depth and legacy of the Vietnam experience.
