Writing

By Remy Benoit

I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.
      Joan Didion
  Fifteen days until Christmas.

Are you trying to make the perfect Christmas?

Do you know what that is for you? Is it the same for those with whom you will spend it? Are you unconsciously setting up a no win scenario? Are you paving the way to frustration?

Are you tired, feeling overwhelmed in this quest for the perfect day?

Have you forgotten that all of life is the journey and what each part  of that brings?

Writing things down clarifies them for us; shows us where we are hung up, where our fears are, and our joys.

Take a little while and write down what Christmas means to you and then what you think it means to at least two other people you will spend it with.

Perhaps in there you will find some reasonable expectations for the celebration; perhaps in there you will find some compassion for them, and for yourself.

  And then, take a nap.

  Blessings.

Loving by Remy Benoit

Read Jerry Wenstrom's review of Loving.

Rhea and Jordan Devereaux had it all: undying devotion, a tender love, and a grand passion. And then the Vietnam War separated them. Follow the course of their love across time and space. Journey with them through the steaming jungle; dance with the Mardi Gras revelers while revolution unseats Louis XVI and protestors on the Washington Mall scream, Hell, NO. We won't Go. Sail with Laffite's pirates into Devil's Isle and rejoice as an unconditional and timeless love emerges victorious.
