Politics and Medicare

By Remy Benoit

Ask a Senior you know, your folks, a neighbor, just what the cost of their medications are. If you are not aware now of those costs, perhaps you better be sitting down when you ask the question.

Perhaps we should also ask too WHY the cost of life saving medications are so high.

Perhaps we should ask why we don't have manageable health care in this country that is within the means of the vast majority.

Perhaps we should ask what the bottom line really is.

From CNN Bush threatens to veto changes to Medicare prescription drug benefit.

From, the Globe, and Thomas Oliphant A lesson in dishonesty.

From the Republican, NewHouse News and Jo-Anne Moriarity Prescription-cost pains targeted.

From the Daytona Beach News and Deborah Circelli Medicaid proposal worries health workers.

From the Des Moines Register and Jane Norman Grassley backs bill allowing purchase of imported drugs.

From Red Nova and New Jersey Business ECONOMIC FORECAST: SURVIVE IN 2005: Health Care Costs.
