The seemingly endless campaign goes on; 75 billion more in costs looms ahead and the wounded number roughly seven for every fatality. We know all too well the combinations of letters: KIA, WIA, MIA.

Only they know the kind of truth they have come to know. We need to try to begin to understand that; to come to grips with the insatiable jaws of war.
